Fortified from Within (Vayetzeh)

One day soon, our children are going to head out into the world. They will be on their own dealing with challenges that we are all too familiar with.  How can we best prepare them for the reality of an often harsh and uncaring world? Contrary to popular belief, they do not need to be broken in early.

“I am God…Remember, I am with you: I will protect you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” (Genesis 28:15)

They do not need to be exposed to what’s ‘out there’ in order to become more worldly . They need to become more secure.

Secure in your love and confidence in their capabilities to succeed and secure in their belief in God’s ongoing guidance, support and involvement in their life.

Only this fortifies them from within and gives them the strength to deal with the Lavan’s and Eisav’s of the world and emerge with the satisfaction of growth and success.
